Toro y Moi Side Project Goes Beatles for ‘Sweet Tea’
Chaz Bundick's experimental Sides of Chaz returns with 7-inch single
Toro y Moi’s Chaz Bundick wears a handful of hats (likely all five-panel). When the Berkeley-based artist isn’t making lush funk-pop under his normal nom de production, he either trades in Balearic beat-work via his Les Sins handle or, as it turns out, loosely Lennon-esque psych-rock using the alias Sides of Chaz. On December 10, Fork & Spoon Records will release the “Sweet Tea” 7-inch single backed with “Take My Car,” two shaggy guitar-driven gems that find Bundick in band-dude mode. Listen to the lead-off song below, and marvel in the man’s world-weary coo.
