Way back in January, Wampire first teased their debut album with “The Hearse,” an accomplished lead single that tempers its macabre title with New Wave flourishes. Now, the Portland duo are still promoting their since-released Curiosity LP, only now they’re touting an official music video for “The Hearse.” Directed by Raphaël Pfeiffer, the clip opens with a nod to the track’s ’80s pedigree: fade in to a large-haired model posing against a neon-pinkish backdrop for a photo shoot. Quickly, though, the short takes a sharp turn into slasher flick territory, as the photographer takes his admiration for the leading lady a few (violent) steps too far.
