J. Cole flashed his “Crooked Smile” on the Late Show With David Letterman on November 5, dropping by the legendary Ed Sullivan Theater stage to promote his chart-topping sophomore album, Born Sinner. The SPIN interview subject didn’t bring along TLC’s T-Boz and Chilli, who guest on the track’s album version, but he did enjoy support from a pair of sturdy-voiced backup singers and a four-piece string section. Cole’s robust rendition of the “love your body” single earned high praise from the late-night show’s host. Letterman not only tossed out an enthusiastic “Fantastic!,” he blew a big kiss to the MC’s supporting players. Watch the footage above.

Meanwhile, SPIN profile stars St. Lucia showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to host an intimate dance party set to “Elevate” and “All Eyes on You,” two sun-speckled highlights from recently released debut LP When the Night. And over on Conan, indie icon Johnny Marr soared through “The Right Thing Right,” a U2-ish anthem off of his first-ever proper solo album, this year’s The Messenger. Find those clips below.
