See Eminem as Max Headroom in Lewinsky-Referencing ‘Rap God’ Video

Eminem has unveiled the official music video for “Rap God,” the speedy, six-minute single from the Detroit MC’s latest album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Slim Shady hinted at his transformation into fictional ’80s talk-show host Max Headroom earlier this month with a 30-second teaser for the clip — now we’ve got the whole visual, directed by Rich Lee, who also helmed the 2010 video for Em’s Recovery hit “Not Afraid.” The video falls in line with Em’s recent nostalgic streak (see the title of MMLP2, its throwback cover art, and the Beastie Boys-biting video for “Berzerk”) by tossing in screenshots from vintage video games, dusting off footage of Bill Clinton’s “sexual relations” soundbyte, and working in a 14-years-late homage to The Matrix.
