Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name successfully bridges the beloved Clipse member’s legacy to his current placement within Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music empire. The end result finds “every fiery line aimed at every dude who hasn’t done the dirt he did launched into a messy maelstrom of moving parts for maximum impact.” The single “Sweet Serenade” is no exception — an eerily stormy song filled with snarled barbs and brags.
“Came from the bottom, no one said it would be fair / Now I’m on this money, lounging like it’s a beach chair,” our host rhymes in the video above, while lounging on an actual beach chair. Pusha holds a shoreside bonfire therein, channelling Rihanna’s “Pour It Up” by bringing a stripper pole to the party and striking a kingly pose during the proceedings. Meanwhile, Chris Brown delivers the hook and does some shirtless jerky dance moves in profile.
