Phoenix’s October 13 set at the 2013 Austin City Limits Music Festival may have been canceled due to sever weather, but the Frenchies’ episode of the Austin City Limits television show went on as planned. On October 12, PBS aired an hour-long installment of ACL that featured the SPIN cover stars blazing through 14 of their fizziest tunes, and now the entire performance is streaming online. Hit the play button above to see Phoenix play highlights from their recent Bankrupt! record (including “Entertainment,” “The Real Thing,” “Trying to be Cool,” and “Drakkar Noir”), a handful of stunners from 2009’s breakthrough Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix LP (“1901,” “Lisztomania,” and “Lasso,” of course), and some choice selections from their earlier work (most notably “Long Distance Call” and “Too Young”). And stay tuned for details on the band’s upcoming appearance on another PBS-minted musical show, Live From the Artists Den, for which they recently filmed a concert inside of a high school gymnasium located in Austin. The next season of Live From the Artists Den begins early 2014.
