Leverage Models and Sharon Van Etten Ride to Coney Island in ‘Sweep’ Video

Back in August, SPIN premiered “Sweep,” an elastic bit of oddball electroni-pop crafted by Leverage Models, a.k.a. producer Shannon Fields. The single features Sharon Van Etten and appears on Leverage Models’ recently released (via Hometapes) self-titled debut album. Now, Fields and Van Etten have reunited for the song’s official music video, a dream-like short directed by Robert Hatch-Miller and Puloma Basu. Shot entirely on an iPhone appended with an SLR lens adapter, the new clip follows a surreal subway trip from Times Square to Coney Island. The short captures a certain kind of fatigue that comes from commuting via New York City’s train tunnels — the sort of lightheaded fogginess where all the details are clear but the world at large feels out of focus.
