Lauryn Hill, Out of Prison, Could Soon Go on Tour

Lauryn Hill, tour, prison, release, house arrest

Lauryn Hill just got out of prison, but she might be hitting the road within weeks. According to TMZ, a judge has granted the former Fugees singer’s request to tour from November 15 to December 31, despite her sentencing requiring three months of house arrest.

Hill released the word-crammed, politically tinged single “Consumerism” on October 3, the eve of her release from prison. She was serving a three-month sentence for tax evasion. Her online updates had indicated prison life had gotten somewhat easier for her, though she initially compared the tax laws to slavery.

Hill toured with Nas in 2012, debuting a spoken-word piece called “Black Rage.” Since then, she has also released a single called “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix).” No official word from Hill yet about a potential tour, so check back for details.
