Disclosure Pull Back the Pop for Raw Club Track ‘Apollo’

Disclosure 'Apollo' Unknown DJ Club House Music

With their SPIN Essential debut album Settle now out and a busy summer festival season wrapped, Disclosure are heading into the club for the winter. Below you can hear “Apollo,” a brand new song that strips away the Lawrence brothers’ pop tendencies — so often assisted by singular vocalists like Jessie Ware and Sam Smith — in favor of a hard-driven four-four beat, moody atmosphere, and surging synth lines. A ribbon of a voice twists and turns within the five-minute track, but the emphasis is on rhythm and feel. “Apollo” was initially uploaded to the #Unknown SoundCloud profile, where unidentified tracks from the dance world are premiered. Good timing following the recent teases that were the yanked video for “Help Me Lose My Mind” and Paul Woolford’s remix of the very same London Grammar-featuring track. And a much more welcome offering than that Azealia Banks beef from the top of the month.
