Mysterious tunesmith Cass McCombs has pulled the curtain back on his newest album. The upcoming Big Wheel and Others doesn’t drop until October 15, but the entire LP is available for streaming a week early thanks to NPR. SPIN has already spotlighted a handful of tracks from the collection — the spacey strummer “Morning Star,” the heartbroken “There Can Only Be One,” and the gorgeous, Karen Black-starring “Brighter!” — and now fans can bask in the whole double album. According to Domino Records, the follow-up to 2011’s Wit’s End and Humor Risk delivers a slew of “road songs, rock songs, folk songs, blues songs, country songs, rhythm and blues songs, skronk non-songs, cinema songs, cult songs, poem songs, jams, and ballads.” Dive in at NPR, purchase the record through Domino, and scroll down for the folkie’s upcoming tour dates.
