Hidden beneath all of the shock and aw-geez-what-now of Miley Cyrus’ public image is the fact that “Wrecking Ball” is a pretty poignant ballad. Hidden beneath Angel Haze’ incredible rapping dexterity and lyrical might is the fact that she can sing. Like, really, really sing. Now the world gets a chance to reconcile itself with both of those ideas, and the New York MC has chosen the Bangerz star’s heartbreaker of a single for her ongoing #30GOLD series. If you’re unfamiliar, Haze is working her way through covers/”freestyles” of/over 30 songs on her way to releasing Dirty Gold, her long-anticipated studio debut.
