Yuck Drift Gorgeously Across Elliott Smith-y ‘Memorial Fields’

Yuck 'Memorial Fields' Stream Glow Behold Album

London fuzz-mongers Yuck release their second album Glow & Behold on October 1, but shoegaze lovers everywhere can stream the entire thing right now. The New York Times has the exclusive on that one — the alternately drifty and shreddy set that finds the four-piece soldiering on quite gracefully without their former lead singer Daniel Blumberg (who’s now recording as Hebronix).

Those 11 tracks are a lovely listen indeed, but if you need further convincing, we’ve got a streaming share below courtesy of Stereogum. “Memorial Fields” is an autumnal sprawl with a psychedelic lilt, helped along by a tone that’s not a little bit Elliott Smith-y and an orchestral section that lends some lilting heft. Enjoy that below, and revisit the video for “Middle Sea” while you’re at it.
