Hear Tigers Jaw Struggle to ‘Carry You Over’ for Producer Will Yip’s ‘Off the Board’ Compilation

Various Artists, Off The Board: A Studio 4 Family Compilation

On October 8, producer and engineer Will Yip will unleash Off the Board: A Studio 4 Family Compilation, a collection of unreleased songs and B-sides by some of the acts he’s worked with over the years, including Title Fight, Circa Survive, Man Overboard, and Balance and Composure. “This compilation is about family,” Yip told SPIN. “It’s the coming together of a tight-knit community made up of the best bands and best friends I know all in one place.”

Proceeds from the LP are being applied to Yip’s down payment to become a partner at Pennsylvania’s renowned Studio 4 recording space. One of the bands Yip asked to help with the effort is ’90s-mining outfit Tigers Jaw, who banked studio time with him earlier this year. “Will is great at guiding bands to find the sound that best represents them,” says guitarist-singer Ben Walsh. “It’s an honor to be able to help Will establish a permanent home at Studio 4. He is one of the most talented and humble people I’ve worked with, and all the great bands that have agreed to be a part of Off the Board are a testament to the awesome things Will has done and will be able to continue doing for our music scene.”

For their part, Tigers Jaw have contributed “Carry You Over,” a dulcet gem marked by somber, slowly springing guitar work and back-and-forth, boy-girl vocals. Stream it below and head over to the official Off the Board website to pre-order the upcoming compilation.
