You may have heard some chatter about Miley Cyrus’ performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards alongside, and often directly in front of, Robin Thicke. Opinions were had, by us, by Big Freedia — even by Miley, herself.
Three weeks later, much of the furor has subsided, but in case you’d like to revisit just how worked up people got over this latest instance of pop stars rubbing their clothed no-no bits together, look no further than the 161 viewer complaints filed to the FCC (via Deadspin). For perspective, Beyonce’s crotch-tastic Super Bowl performance only received 48 complaints, and was seen by a much larger audience. Keep in mind, also, that the FCC has to respond to every complaint and patiently explain that they don’t regulate cable television. Oof. Just wait till they get a look at her tool-licking “Wrecking Ball” video.

“Miley Syres did a performance with teddy bears, sticking he butt in a man face, making obscene, suggestive movements, resembling a porn show.”
“The Miley Cyrus performance was very pornographic and should not have been on TV. She made multiple very indecent sexual poses and gestures, from grabbing her crouch, using a foam finger like a dildo, and licking the butt of a stuff bear in a sexual manner. Plus the fact she barely had any clothes on.”
“Miley Cyrus demonstrated lewd behavior in her performance, indicating oral sex, dog sex, etc. It was gross and should not have been allowed on TV.”
“Obscene sexual acts on stage depicted by a child.” [Note: This is the entire complaint]
“Pornographic dance by Miley Cyrus. Yuck! Will not list details. TOO GROSS. Should be restricted to whore house.” [Note: Same goes for this one]
“Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga performance. Actually the whole awards show is disgusting. MTV shoud be fined for inappropriate behavior. MTV’s shows are pretty much all disgusting…16 and pregnant really why are we glorifying this…REal World where two men are licking each others nipples on tv…really come on something need to be done about all this shit on tv…i’m about ready to sell my tv’s.”
