Future Lords Over a Grand Piano in Ornate ‘Honest’ Video

Future in his new video for "Honest"

Future’s “Honest” is one of the Atlanta sing-rapper’s most mournful tracks. Even its triumphant moments — “I got a gang of bad bitches with me, too / And we ain’t going back to what we used to do” — are coated with lament. The video, cinematically shot by Colin Tilley, places Future in a palatial mansion with a gleaming pool, towering Grecian architecture, and a group of women roaming aimlessly. But that’s all: There are no parties, almost no friends or moments of interaction. Tilley and Future emphasize the emptiness of the situation, showing the flip-side of Tilley’s video for DJ Khaled’s (well, Drake’s) “No New Friends,” a song that celebrates closing yourself off from the world.

Honest is scheduled to drop on November 26. Will it happen? Consult our 2013 Fourth-Quarter Rap Album Probability Index.
