Eminem’s “Berzerk” will be the new sound of Saturday Night Football on ABC. For those not in the know, that’s the most watched series celebrating college-level pigskin on television. And sports are the primary reason television still exists, so all told this is a big get for the Detroit MC. His first single from The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will play “throughout the telecast in various capacities, including highlight packages and coming in from, and out of, commercial breaks,” per label Universal Music.
According to the announcement, the September 7 showdown between Notre Dame and Michigan will feature a haltime treat: a sneak peek of the forthcoming music video for “Berzerk.” That will actually air on ESPN, while the aforementioned program — full name: Saturday Night Football Presented by Windows — will begin using Eminem’s song when the series begins on September 14. MMLP2 is out November 5 on Aftermath/Interscope.
