See Saint Rich Harass the NYPD in ‘Officer’ Video

saint rich, delicate steve, officer, beyond the drone

Last month, Delicate Steve bandmates Steve Marion and Christian Peslak shared “Officer,” the latest song from their new project, Saint Rich. “Why do you look so mad?” Peslak sings on the cop-baiting track. “You always look so fucking angry / But you should feel happy, and you should feel good to be king of the neighborhood.” The New Jersey-reared duo don’t quite get an answer in the song’s just-released music video (which premiered on Stereogum), but judging from the clip it’s not hard to imagine why the boys in blue would be so dour: Everyone in the video pretty much hates the police and keeps trying to piss them off. Saint Rich stage an impromptu, probably illegal concert in the middle of lower Manhattan while twentysomethings repeatedly taunt the NYPD and one random passerby just decides to give an officer the finger because, well, why not?

Check out the track list for Saint Rich’s debut album below. Beyond the Drone is out October 1 via Merge Records. The band hits the road September 13.
