Kauf Sets Surreal Portrait in Motion for Illusory ‘Relocate’ Video

Kauf

Last month, Cut Copy’s Cutters Records released the As Much Again EP, the debut short-player from electronic composer Kauf. The six-track collection features the Los Angeles-based auetur’s most recent single, “Relocate,” a synth’n’drum-driven dance tune that flirts with art-pop drone. Now the song has a set of visuals to match. Directed by Nathalia Acevedo, the video for “Relocate” is a hallucinatory portrait of four people; the subjects themselves hardly move from the camera’s focus, but transition effects bleed their faces together, as one fades into the next, lending rhythm to a psychedelic standstill. Watch it above.
