Justin Timberlake’s New Open Letter: ‘We’re Not Done, Not Even Close’
Shares 'The 20/20 Experience' studio footage ahead of possible documentary
Justin Timberlake has shared a brand new promo for his upcoming The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2 album, pairing it with an open letter addressed to fans. “The last time I wrote you an open letter, it was in January and I promised that it would be a ‘Big 2013,'” reads the post, which can be found on JT’s official website.
Indeed, it’s been a sizeable year for the man. Since that initial “I’m Ready” trailer, Timberlake has dropped one of the year’s best-selling albums (The 20/20 Experience), announced a sequel to said blockbuster LP, embarked on a joint stadium tour with Jay Z, provided Hova with the hook for “Holy Grail,” and as recently as last night (August 25), made the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards worth watching. But the King of the Moonmen isn’t done.
The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2 is due out September 30, and JT is teasing the 11-track effort with a two-minute video featuring exclusive in-studio footage shot during the recording of his double-sized FutureSex/LoveSounds follow-up. The clip also hints at a project dubbed “The Making of The 20/20 Experience,” which is likely a full-length documentary exploring, well, the making of The 20/20 Experience. Whatever it is, it’s “coming soon.”
“Catch your breath, TN kids,” JT writes in his latest statement referring to his home state of Tennessee. “We’ve still got the 3rd and 4th quarter to go.” Watch the video above and read JT’s full open letter below.
The last time I wrote you an open letter, it was in January and I promised that it would be a “Big 2013.” Since then, from The Grammys to the release of the first part of The 20/20 Experience to the crowd’s response at the VMAs, it’s been a wild ride. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have.
This letter is to tell you that we’re not done…Not even close.
On Sept 30th, the second half of The 20/20 Experience, “The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2″, comes out. Since all these songs were written together over a year ago, it’s been so hard to wait this long to release them. I can’t wait for all of you to hear The 20/20 Experience in full.
So..below is a short clip of the recording of the experience so you can get a feel of what those 20 days were like. It was like no other time I’ve ever had in the studio.
Catch your breath, TN Kids. We’ve still got the 3rd and 4th quarter to go.
This is too much fun.
