Joe Goddard keeps it all in the family for his latest music video, a cozy clip promoting “Step Together,” the house-flavored opener from June’s Taking Over EP. Directed by Daniel Brereton, the three-minute short catches some of Goddard’s closest confidants in the midst of life’s little moments. Various associates of the Hot Chip producer’s Greco-Roman collective pop up: Crew co-founders Alex Waldron and Dom Mentsch argue over ice cream, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs chills out, and David E. Sugar scarfs downs an apple on a rooftop. Elsewhere in the video are cameos by Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio, and more, including producer Boris Dlugosch, the track’s co-creator. Oh, and Goddard’s daughter Edie guest stars too, assisting her dad with some synth-work. If the stiff visuals for the Mara Carlyle-featuring “She Burns” captured the moments after death, then this new piece serves as a light-hearted prequel, a comforting look at everything that comes before the end.

Watch it above (via THUMP), and grab the Taking Over EP through iTunes. Meanwhile, the debut compilation from Greco-Roman/DFA, the double-disc We Make Colourful Music Because We Dance In the Dark, is currently available through Amazon U.K., with an official U.S. release on the way.
