Dumb Numbers Teams With Jesus Lizard Singer for Freaky ‘Redrum’ Video

Dumb Numbers, a.k.a. Australian songwriter Adam Harding, assembled an alt-rock murderers’ row to craft his recently released self-titled debut album. Sebadoh mastermind Lou Barlow, Dinosaur Jr. drummer Murph, Melvins drummer Dale Crover, Best Coast‘s Bobb Bruno, and Emperor X’s Chad R. Metheny all pitched in on the feedback-enhanced full-length. When tasked with finding someone to direct the music video for fiery LP highlight “Redrum,” Harding called on another underground all-star: David Yow, former frontman for the Jesus Lizard.

“I love this song and was tickled pink when Adam asked that I do a stupid video for it,” Yow told Rolling Stone. “For the most part, you get an adorable little girl who runs at a very unusual gait, some astounding slow motion footage, red shit, [the] jungle and the long black hair of Adam Harding. The story tells itself.” Sounds more like a lot of creepy abstract imagery spliced together and less like a “story,” but you heard the man.
