Crocodiles Stomp Out ‘Cockroach’ in New VHS-Style Video

Crocodiles cockroach video crimes of passion

Crocodiles have only been getting better at the fuzzy garage rock game since SPIN named them a band to watch in 2009. With their fourth LP Crimes of Passion due August 20 via Frenchkiss, the San Diego band have debuted an appropriately lo-fi, psychedelic video for the song “Cockroach,” an ode to a woman who has infested his brain. Brandon Welchez croons about being “so alone tonight,” then sprinkles in some colorful imagery much like the titular pest-lady who leaves a trail of scum and eggs inside of him. It’s actually kind of sweet if you don’t have an itchy gag reflex, though we wonder how Welchez’s wife — Dum Dum Girls frontwoman Dee Dee — reacted to it on her first listen. Anyway, it’s wise to not play it for your special dudette or dude, unless you know they’re into that sorta thing. Enjoy the video, which features Brandon singing into a can of roach spray, above.
