Hear Oh Land’s Graceful Feminist Manifesto ‘Renaissance Girls’

oh land, wish bone, renaissance girls

A few weeks back, Oh Land announced her impending third album by laying out “My Boxer,” a sucker-punching electro seducer produced and co-written by Dan Carey (Bat for Lashes, Chairlift). Now, the Danish singer-songwriter born Nanna Øland Fabricius has dropped the first official single from her upcoming Wish Bone LP, out September 24 via Dave Sitek’s Federal Prism label. “Renaissance Girls” draws its strength from a steady diet of needling percussion, taut piano chords, and nimble vocals, all while repping for female empowerment. “Doing the laundry and planning for the future / Is the nature of a Renaissance girl,” Oh Land sings. “Having three kids and still remain a virgin / Is my version of a Renaissance girl.” Stream it below.
