Mudhoney made their first television appearance in 18 years last night (July 9), crashing Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to perform scuzzy Vanishing Point single “I Like It Small.” The last time these Seattle vets showed up on the talk-show circuit, frontman Mark Arm’s hair was shoulder-length, Bill Clinton was in the White House, and Conan O’Brien was still on NBC (via Consequence of Sound). As an extra warm-up for their July 11 gig atop their hometown’s iconic Space Needle, the Sub Pop garage-punks tore into “The Only Son of the Widow from Nain” as a web exclusive.
