The forward march of soulful body music continues with a new entry from Bedford, England’s Lil Silva. The rising producer weds Chicago-style minimal house to English dubstep atmosphere, burbling modern techno, and easy-on-the-ears R&B — the latter courtesy of a guest appearance by singer Rosie Lowe on the new song “No Doubt.” The accompanying Ferry Gouw-directed video features a stoic-looking Silva amidst warm colors and strange mechanical devices, the ghost in the machine. He’ll release his new Distance EP, which also features a cameo from Drake pal Sampha, on August 5 via Good Years.
