Kidd Kraddick’s Cause of Death Is Almost Poetic

Beloved Dallas-based radio host David “Kidd” Kraddick most likely died due to an enlarged heart after collapsing at a charity golf tournament, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Following their preliminary autopsy, Louisiana coroners said that the 53-year-old suffered blockages in three of his coronary arteries.

Kraddick fell ill at his Kidd’s Kids charity event on Saturday, July 27, at Timberlane Country Club, just outside of New Orleans. He collapsed during the five-minute drive to the emergency room, where doctors were unable to resuscitate him. While word on the official cause of death is dependent upon a toxicology report, officials cited cardiac disease as the cause for the 40 to 80 percent blockages, which can lead to an irregular heartbeat.

“Kidd devoted his life to making people smile every morning, and for 21 years his foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to thousands of chronically and terminally ill children,” said the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning crew and syndicator YEA Networks in a statement. “He died doing what he loved, and his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him.”

The purpose of the golf tournament was to raise money for sick and physically challenged youth to travel to Disney World. Funeral arrangements for Kraddick have yet to be announced.
