Charles Bradley is the subject of a soon-to-be-released documentary, Charles Bradley: Soul of America. Directed by Poull Brien, the feature film examines the soul survivor‘s remarkable life story, following the then-62-year-old in the months leading up to the release of his 2011 debut, No Time for Dreaming. The movie will have its digital release (via iTunes) on July 16 and arrive in DVD format on August 6 (pre-orders are now available through the Daptone store). Soul of America is also being screened in select theaters around the country on specific dates in July, August, and September. Watch the film’s trailer above.

The resilient singer will also be on the road through the end of 2013. Bradley has added a string of North American tour dates for the month of December, promising shows in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ontario, and Vermont. He’s currently making the rounds in Europe, supporting his recently released sophomore album, Victim of Love. (SPIN shared opening track “Strictly Reserved for You” back in January.)
