Chance the Rapper made SPIN’s Hottest MCs list and delivered one of the most exciting mixtapes of the year thus far, Acid Rap. Former Kids These Days song-rhymer Vic Mensa blessed us with “Orange Soda” and “Hollywood LA.” Now we have the deep-voiced Mick Jenkins with his slightly Southern flow, who wrangles both of the aforementioned spitters to accompany him on “Cross Roads.” OnGaud provides the loping, soulful production — a solid foundation for the loosely listing bars of Chance (who’s busy dropping “multi-entendres”) and the stylish stutter verse provided by Vic.
