Prince Plays With ‘Ta-Tas’ on New Song ‘Ain’t Gonna Miss U When U’re Gone’

prince, ledisi, ain't gonna miss u when u're gone

Prince has dropped another new song just 4 U, the funky kiss-off “Ain’t Gonna Miss U When U’re Gone.” The Purple One debuted the six-minute single via the 3rdEyeGirl website, and now the track can be yours for a mere $0.88. (Hey, that’s almost half the cost to watch the “Screwdriver” video!) Assisted by singer-songwriter Ledisi, this latest jam features playful horn skronk, plinking percussion, and pitch-warped pick-up lines: Prince even offers to rub someone’s “ta-tas.”

The Minneapolis legend — who also happens to be one of the 100 Greatest Drummers of Alternative Music — has shared a steady stream of new material over the last few months. We’ve heard the grungy “FixUrLifeUp,” the smooth-talking “Breakfast Can Wait,” the power-poppy “Screwdriver,” the sizzling “Same Page Different Book,” and the acoustic “That Girl Thang.” The Artist is reportedly at work on his 35th studio album, Plectrum Electrum, but the details are scant. Prince was also confirmed as a guest on Janelle Monáe’s upcoming second LPThe Electric Lady, alongside his younger Alt-R&B counterpart, Miguel. Monáe’s album arrives in September.
