Sad new details of Paris Jackson’s suicide attempt have come to light via new audio. The 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson swallowed 20 Motrin pills and cut her arm with a kitchen knife during the early morning hours of June 5, according to an emergency dispatch call released by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and obtained by TMZ. The minute-long conversation between emergency dispatchers also confirms that Paris was awake and breathing before she was taken to a hospital near her home in Calabasas, California.

After news of the incident broke, a lawyer for Paris’ grandmother, 83-year-old Katherine Jackson, claimed, “We don’t know what she was exposed to that precipitated this.” A source close to the family told Entertainment Tonight that Paris tried to take her own life after being denied permission to attend Marilyn Manson’s June 6 concert at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. Manson commented on these reports, relaying the following message to Paris: “I hope you feel better. You will be on my guest list anytime you want.” The goth-rock showman also dedicated a song to Paris during his June 6 performance, right before he pretended to slash his wrist with a knife onstage.

Last week, a probate judge ordered an investigation into Paris’ well-being. She and her two brothers — Prince Michael and Prince Michael II, a.k.a. Blanket — live under the guardianship of Katherine Jackson and their cousin, T.J. Jackson, son to Tito.

As TMZ points out, the June 5 emergency phone call was made after Paris contacted a suicide hotline. She was then reportedly placed on involuntary psychiatric hold for 72 hours in Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. An attorney for Katherine Jackson told the reporters Friday (June 7) that Paris was physically fine. On Sunday, Paris was moved to UCLA Medical Center — the same hospital where her father was pronounced dead in 2009 — for further evaluation.
