Hear Reunited Shoegazers Medicine’s Celebratory ‘It’s Not Enough’

'To The Happy Few' Cover Art

On August 6, the original lineup of Los Angeles noise-pop band Medicine will release their first album in 18 years, To the Happy Few, via Captured Tracks. A year ago, the same label reissued two early-’90s Medicine albums, including Shot Forth Self Living (see Blame Nirvana: The 40 Weirdest Post-‘Nevermind’ Major-Label Albums). The group of lead singer Beth Thompson, guitarist-singer Brad Laner, and drummer Jim Goodall have already previewed the new album with “Long as the Sun,” a pummeling update on shoegaze swirl. Now comes the similarly kaleidoscopic “It’s Not Enough,” blissfully harmony-kissed psych-pop that should appeal to fans of Tame Impala or previous Laner collaborators Caribou as much as those who rejoiced over the new My Bloody Valentine album.

Medicine tour dates:

August 11 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Echo
August 16 – Brooklyn, NY @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
