Foals Singer Has a ‘Bad Habit’ of Following Naked Women Through the Desert

Foals 'Bad Habit' Video NSFW Holy Fire Nabil Elderkin

Back in March, Foals shared the incredibly intense video for “Late Night,” cramming four story lines into a few very NSFW few minutes in order to illustrate such heavy ass themes as childbirth, decay, sex, and suicide. Director Nabil Elderkin (Frank Ocean, James Blake, Kanye West) returns for “Bad Habit,” but this time the focus is deeply personal. Singer Yannis Philippakis awakes in the middle of a barren desert, barefoot. As he stumbles forward, he picks up a trail that turns out to belong to a beautiful naked woman. Her stride leaves flowers in its wake, but whatever our hero touches crumbles. He trudges ever forward on his impossible task — singing, “Would you forgive me now?” over darkly blooming art/dance-rock — moving toward a dramatic finish that could offer him salvation, or drop him right back where he started. The song hails from the band’s third album, Holy Fire, which came out in February via Transgressive.
