Stream the Cannanes’ Brainy ‘A Bigger Splash,’ From DIY Icons’ First LP in Over a Decade

Cannanes Track Premiere

Earlier this year, Australian DIY legends the Cannanes returned with the Small Batch EP, the ramshackle outfit’s first major release since 2002’s Trouble Seemed So Far Away. Now, the lo-fi tunesmiths have a proper full-length on the way. Howling at All Hours is set to arrive later in 2013, courtesy of Aussie label Chapter Music. Ahead of the impending LP, we have “A Bigger Splash,” a sweetly shabby, too-smart-for-its-own-good ode to summer lounging. “If people feel uneasy / They should just ought to relax / We worry over nothing / But, Christ, I want my shades back,” sings founding member David Nichols, manning the Cannanes drum kit for the first time in 17 years.
