Azealia Banks Adds U.K. Dance Duo Disclosure to Overdue Debut Album

Azealia Banks’ debut album& Broke With Expensive Taste has been gestating for longer than the lifespan of Blue Ivy Carter. There are some advantages to taking two-plus years to wrap up an album, though. For instance, collaborators that we barely knew existed have time to blow up and potentially help salvage your album. So, enter Disclosure, the upstart U.K. brothers who this year have scored a No. 1 albumSettle, a SPIN Essential — and two top 10 singles — “Latch” and “You & Me,” with new single “F For You” potentially joining them — across the pond. Circa Azealia’s own smash “212,” Disclosure were just some kids fooling around on Myspace, but now the trio are in the studio in search of Banks’ second hit.

At least in the U.K., that is. “212” was strictly underground in America but was a legitimate pop sensation in England, a phenomenon that goes for Disclosure as well. Over here, Banks’ coming out party will come as “ATM JAM,” her track with Pharrell. Banks claimed on Twitter that the album is 80% finished, but if “ATM JAM” proves to be D.O.A. that number might too be adjusted.
