Coming in hot off of American Idol‘s apparently stab-worthy finale, Mariah Carey hit Good Morning America Friday (May 24) to perform her summer-ready Miguel collaboration. But as Celebuzz so perfectly worded it, she offered up a “#Beautiful” disaster in addition to the chart-climbing single of the same hashtagged name. Amidst cracking herself up with a joke that no one else understood — does she party all night? Is she an insomniac? A vampire? — Carey managed to crack the back of her dress open, then delivered a joke that most can agree is pretty decent: “I love you, Donatella, but it popped dahhhling.”
While a small army of handlers worked to fix the in-progress wardrobe malfunction and host Laura Spencer tried to block the singer’s cleavage with her steno pad (no small feat), Carey kept talking. “I just wanted to change the ensemb,” she said before oddly suggesting that this very YouTube-able moment (see above) might make it onto Spotify. She wrapped up the morning’s comedy portion by saying “shit” on live television when she almost fell over while slipping her shoes off.
