Watch Soundgarden Strip Down ‘Superunknown’ Classics for Acoustic Set

soundgarden, acoustic

Soundgarden are set to embark on another leg of their North American tour in May, and in advance of the upcoming gigs, frontman Chris Cornell and bassist Ben Shepherd played a private acoustic session for listeners of Phoenix’s 98 KUPD radio station on April 15. Video footage of the intimate performance has now surfaced online (via Blabbermouth), allowing fans to see a gentler side of the King Animal titans. Defanged or not, Superunknown classics “Black Hole Sun” and “Fell on Black Days” still stun, while Down on the Upside‘s “Blow Up the Outside World” retains its mumbly vulnerability, even when Cornell’s belting out the chorus.
