Infectious Groove Reunite With Faith No More Guitarist Jim Martin for Orion Music Festival

Infectious Groove Reunion Faith No More Orion Festival

Metallica’s Orion Music + More festival is coming in hot. After leaving behind Atlantic City for the blank urban-ish canvas that is Detroit, the band revealed headliners Deftones and Red Hot Chili Peppers, plus supporting SPIN faves like Death Grips, FIDLAR, and Japandroids, and announced a series of “lifestyle” events including a Vans half-pipe and a Metallica museum. A new press release touts the addition of Rocket From the Crypt, Vista Chino, and Dead Sara, but that’s not all.

Fans of all things hard and funky have got something else to look forward to: a bona fide original-member reunion of early ’90s supergroup Infectious Grooves. Well, except for guitarist Adam Siegel. Which is fine, because they’ve wrangled former Faith No More ax-man Jim Martin to take his place. As for the rest of the posse? Suicidal Tendencies singer Mike Muir and guitarist Dean Pleasants. Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo. Former Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins.

Other emerging details: the Orion “…And Food For All” grub zone will be curated by Detroit restaurateur and entrepreneur Phil Cooley (Slows BBQ), who’ll work to “showcase some of the region’s great offerings.” It’s all going down at Belle’s Isle on June 8 and 9. Two-day passes are be available for $150; VIP passes go for $750 (via the Orion website). Review the full lineup to date after you soak up some wicked infectious funk-metal grooves right here:
