Watch MNDR and Tokimonsta Hijack a Man’s Dreams in ‘Go With It’ Video

MNDR Tokimonsta 'Go With It' Video Half Shadows Album

MNDR’s Amanda Warner is on a roll. After writing about middle class concerns for SPIN and releasing “a really ill techno record,” the New York-based artist has cultivated an impressively diverse profile: paying homage to Serbian performance artists, performing “Feed Me Diamonds” on Letterman, remixing Metric, and collaborating with members of Duran Duran. Meanwhile, Los Angeles beatmaster Tokimonsta has been working behind the scenes to prepare her April 9 LP, Half Shadows, which finds her making the leap from Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label to EDM giant Ultra Records.

Last month Toki shared space-rap jam “The Force” featuring Kool Keith, and now she’s linked up with MNDR to present a different look. “Go With It” combines visceral hand-percussion with winding melodies and colorful pop flourishes — not to mention its guest star’s lovely vocals. Meanwhile, the High5Collective (Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino) contribute an engrossing video with a mysterious narrative. Monsta and MNDR both appear in the clip, which follows one man’s transformation from cocky d-bag to loving human via a series of scenes that blur reality with dreams.
