Justin Bieber Enters His Axl Rose Phase, Apologizes for Concert’s Two-Hour Late Start

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber has provoked the anger of the two constituencies he can’t afford to alienate: his fans and their parents. While the singer was set to perform in London last night at 8:30 p.m. local time, he didn’t appear onstage at the O2 Arena until 10:20 p.m., according to the BBC. As TMZ records with the video below, a few people booed. Bieber has apologized, but like the 19-year-old he is, he apologized for something different than what people are mad at him for, insisting he was only 40 minutes late to stage and that his show was “great.” Then again, it took Guns N’ Roses’ infamously tardy Axl Rose a whole decade to apologize for a 2002 Cleveland no-show. That said, Rose apologized for his next missed Cleveland appearance, at last year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, almost right away. So maybe Bieber should save his sorries for some distant future Swag Hall.
