Evanescence Reissue ‘Fallen’ Debut on Purple Vinyl for 10th Anniversary

We’re a little more than two months into this year and 2013’s album release schedule already bares an eerie resemblance to 2003’s list of notable LPs. On the docket for the next few months: new records from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Strokes, as well as a vinyl reissue of the White Stripes’ Elephant. Now add a tenth anniversary re-release of Evanescence’s debut full-length, Fallen, to the pile (via Blabbermouth).

Wind-Up Records is reissuing the nu-metal blockbuster — which spawned the inescapable single “Bring Me to Life” and boasted other hits such as “Going Under” and “My Immortal” — on limited-edition purple vinyl. Pre-orders priced at $15.99 are currently available here. According to Wind-Up, orders will begin shipping on May 21.

Evanescence released their third and most recent studio effort, the simply titled Evanescence, in 2011. Frontwoman Amy Lee, the only remaining original member of the band, hinted last year that she might follow in the direction of How To Destroy Angels head honcho (and Reddit all-star) Trent Reznor, opting to work on film soundtracks and focus on more digital-minded releases. “This is the future,” she said of digital music. “Maybe we’re moving to a place where it could be cool to do something else — like five songs, just do a digital release only, and it’s easier to move on to the next single quicker.”
