To See the Breeders at ATP’s Australian Halloween Party, Dress Like a Cannonball

breeders, all tomorrow's parties, release the bats

The Breeders, the Jesus Lizard, Fuck Buttons, Lightning Bolt, and more are dropping by All Tomorrow’s Parties’ Release the Bats Halloween party in Melbourne, Australia later this year, organizers announced today (March 19).

Set for October 26, this one-day event will take place at the Westgate Entertainment Centre and Grand Star Reception in Altona, a suburb of Melbourne. Aside from all the aforementioned acts, the lineup features the Scientists, Sleep, Forest Swords, Total Control, Hoss, the UV Race, White Walls, the Spinning Rooms, and many more to be announced.

Halloween costumes are optional, but ATP recommends an outfit that cleverly nods at one of the bands playing or a noted work (album or single) by one of the billed acts. The Breeders will again be playing 1993’s classic Last Splash in its entirety, so that seems like an easy touchstone. Prizes will be given out to the best dressed. Tickets for Release the Bats go on sale on March 20 and can be purchased here.

The international concert promoters have a number of showcases planned for 2013. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Grizzly Bear are curating London’s I’ll Be Your Mirror series, scheduled for May 4 and 5; the Brooklyn all-stars have booked the Walkmen, Real Estate, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Dirty Beaches, and more. Soon after, TV on the Radio and Deerhunter are heading ATP’s main installment, with weekend shows planned from May 10 to 12 and June 21 to 23, respectively. Those events promise gigs from the Breeders, De La Soul, Panda Bear, !!!, El-P, Death Grips, and more.
