The Big Pink Tease Third Album With Patiently Swirling ‘Last Day’

The Big Pink

The Big Pink have just updated their website, and the new design includes a buzzing dream-pop instrumental that may hint at the stadium-size electro-shoegaze duo’s impending follow-up to 2011 sophomore effort Future This.

Robbie Furze, who with Milo Cordell makes up the London-based group, told SPIN the new track, titled “Last Day,” is a work-in-progress with “my good friend Henrik, aka [producer/DJ] Van Rivers,” whose previous collaborations include Blonde Redhead, Fever Ray, Glasser, and Matthew Dear. “It does not exactly give you the totally idea of the new record, but vibe wise I think it works, especially accompanied by the background images,” Furze said in an e-mail. “If you close the see though info window and watch the pictures with the track you can get a sort of an idea of where we are at.”

The background images paint a varied but unvaryingly intense picture. They range from buildings being demolished to people crying or being submerged in water. No details on an album title or release date just yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
