Watch Solange Make David Letterman Blush With ‘Don’t Let Me Down’

Solange, solange knowles, david letterman, late show

Solange charmed late-night curmudgeon/unabashed flirt David Letterman on the Late Show last night (February 27) with a characteristically no-frills performance of the funkily ’80s throwback “Don’t Let Me Down.” Dolled up in a polka dot dress and white high-heels, the Alt-R&B star relied on nothing but her feather-light vocals, well-timed hip swivels, and bass hiccups for the True highlight. After the applause, the talk show host couldn’t help but plant a kiss on Solange’s hand and offer the Houston native a gross proposition: a joint tour where he tells the jokes she and her band “kill, just blow the roof off the dump, and then backstage, it’ll be horseplay.” Ah, the creepy male gaze. Solange, you better let him down.
