Boris to Unearth Classics on Subgenre-Melding ‘Residency’ Tour

Boris 2013 residency tour trailer video

Japanese metal polyglots Boris have announced they will be taking their heavily psychedelic, wildly diverse discography through American cities two nights at a time on a headlining “residency” tour, following the group’s performance at Austin Psych Fest

The first night of the tour will feature Boris’ “all-time classics along with many new songs never before played in the U.S.,” while the second night will combines most of 2006’s massively doom-y Flood with “a noise/drone/experimental set.” The tour comes after Boris released three head-smashing albums in 2011. More recently, when not covering neo-shoegazers Asobi Seksu, the subgenre-traversing band has been going back to the souce with a blessedly sprawling version of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless staple “Sometimes.”
