Watch Yo La Tengo and Real Estate Gently Rock ‘Our Way to Fall’ Together

Yo La Tengo Real Estate Our Way to Fall

As they’re gearing up to release their first album in more than three years, Fade, Hoboken indie godfathers Yo La Tengo are working out some interesting ways to spread the news. First there was the animated video for “Before We Run,” which is almost certainly some sort of subliminally coded hypnosis device, and now there’s the band’s currently in-progress eight-night run of Hanukkah shows in their New Jersey hometown. As Brooklyn Vegan reports, each night thus far has featured different supporting acts (last night: El-P and The Daily Show‘s John Oliver!) and Tuesday’s opening band of honor was Real Estate, who hail from nearby Ridgewood and have a tradition of playing unorthodox (no pun) events. After the headliner’s typically delicate set, Real Estate singer Martin Courtney joined Yo La Tengo to sing on their gently jazzy 2000 song “Our Way to Fall.” Dig into that wonderfully mellow collab above.
