The Rolling Stones performed live for the first time in five years last night (October 25), for an audience of about 600 people at Paris’ Le Trabendo club. The 12-song set sampled heavily from the band’s classic catalog, including standards “Brown Sugar” and “Start Me Up,” as well as the band’s first new song since 2005, “Doom and Gloom.” In fan footage shot from the pit, which surfaced online Friday, frontman Mick Jagger leads a bouncing crowd through “Shattered” and “When the Whip Comes Down.”

The warm-up gig for the Stones’ four-date 50th anniversary tour had been confirmed early Thursday. Only 350 tickets were made available for the intimate show, at about $20 a pop. The Stones will next play London’s O2 Arena on November 25 and November 29, and then come stateside for two shows at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center on December 13 and December 15. As previously reported, the final Prudential gig will be broadcast as a pay-per-view special, “One More Shot,” at 9 p.m. EST. Tickets for the London shows were reportedly running from £300 ($484) to £11,000 ($17,742) apiece on secondary ticketing websites. Tickets for the Newark shows go on general sale today, October 26, at 12 p.m. EST. Guitarist Keith Richards wouldn’t rule out the possiblity of a longer tour during an interview with the BBC’s Matt Everitt, but no other dates have been confirmed yet.

The band is also releasing a career-spanning three-disc anthology entitled GRRR!, which will be available in North America on November 13, in 50- and 80-track versions. If that’s not enough Stones-material for you, look out for the group’s 1965 Ireland travelogue, Charlie Is My Darling, out on DVD on November 6, and Crossfire Hurricane, a Brett Morgen-directed documentary about the band set to premiere on HBO on November 15.
