Muse Turn ‘Saturday Night Live’ Into ‘Panic Station’

Muse's Matthew Bellamy on 'Saturday Night Live'

The maximalist men of Muse aren’t scheduled to begin their North American tour until after we all survive the impending Mayan apocalypse (updated dates below), but they were live in New York on Saturday night. On a Daniel Craig-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, Muse battled surprise guest Big Bird for dominance via the wubby electro-pop song “Madness” and paranoid funk track “Panic Station,” both from their U.K.-chart-topping new album The 2nd Law. Muse’s SNL appearance followed performances by chart-conquering jamboree crusaders Mumford & Sons and leftfield-pop explorer Frank Ocean. Happily for everyone involved, no tirelessly self-promoting political bloviators were present.
