Chief Keef Releases Raw ‘Love Sosa’ Video, Previews Energetic ‘Go’
'Finally Rich' rapper feels the love in a nicely characteristic clip
Keith Cozart, a.k.a. Chief Keef, is technically just a kid, a fact that crashes down hard when his name comes up in connection with gun ranges, prosecutors, and murder. (He has another probation hearing on November 20.) But the 17-year-old Chicago rapper’s age also makes his rapid rise all the more impressive. Interscope sponsored the video for his spacey, Young Chop-produced boast “Love Sosa.” The song, with its patiently billowing beats and unforced braggodocio that recalls Atlanta’s Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame, neatly crystallizes Keef’s approach so far. And the clip features another set of kinetic, low-key visuals courtesy of “I Don’t Like” director D. Gainz. The Glory Boys CEO also posted a 48-second snippet of a new song called “Go,” with slow-motion keyboards and emphatic rhymes on Friday (October 19). Watch the “Love Sosa” video, and hear a cut of “Go” below. Chief Keef’s major-label debut, Finally Rich, should be out before too much longer.
