See Arcade Fire Perform New Song, ‘Crucified Again’

arcade fire win butler crucified again

Arcade Fire haven’t confirmed those rumors about a new album in 2013, but fan footage of the suburban rockers performing a churchy new song portends something on the horizon. Reportedly called “Crucified Again,” Win Butler and co. first debuted the slow-burning lullabye at a Haiti benefit back in March, but dusted it off last Thursday night (October 4) at a Partners in Health event at Guastavino’s restaurant in New York City.

This one sounds like an outtake from 2007’s Neon Bible, and would’ve fit right in on that LP given its religious imagery. Flush with organ and that piercing violin whine, the track builds to a fine crescendo, customary to the band’s album-ending tracks. So maybe Arcade Fire are teasing the future release feet-first? Get a listen above.
