No Doubt Party Hella Good In ‘Push and Shove’ Video

No Doubt dropped their sixth studio album (their first in 11 years) yesterday — and along with it came this video for its title track “Push and Shove.” Shot in black-and-white with a shaky cam by longtime No Doubt music video director Sophie Muller, the visual pits the Anaheim ska-poppers on the streets, bent on party rocking. Jamaican dancehall king Busy Signal, who guests on the track, didn’t make the shoot, nor did Diplo and Major Lazer, who both have backend credits.

Bassist Tony Kanal called “Push and Shove” the No Doubt equivalent of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” because the track has that this-is-what-the-kids-are-listening-to-now dubstep time-change. But the music video is mainly informed by the band’s 2002 video “Hella Good,” all blown-out Gwen glamor shots and nebulous intraband carousing.
